I ’ve taken a few leaps of faith in my life, but making this CD is near the top of the list. Several times during the process, when my confidence waned, I had to stop and ask myself, "Why am I doing this?" And the answer was always the same: because the joy is in the sharing. Because if you do this, someone else will find the courage to do theirs. Because this is what we do as creators-we shape our thoughts and experiences into forms that can be of use. But they are only useful when we put them out into the world.
So here are my prayers and thoughts and love songs; here are some lessons I’ve learned along the way; here are the songs I wrote to keep myself going and tributes to those who stand by me on the journey.
At the end is The Artist's Creed- not sung, but spoken like a prayer in the night-to remind us of our magnitude, our mission, and the divine, sublime nature of this journey we’re all on.
